Jam

April 1, 2007:  Jam was adopted by longtime Three Gaits volunteer Patti Huber of McFarland.

  • Registered Name:  Hungarian Jambor #1138
  • Date of Birth:  June 29, 1986
  • Breed:  Hungarian Warmblood
  • Height:  16 hands
  • Color:  Bay
  • Markings:  Star, left hind pastern, brands
  • Former Owner:  Mary Smith (Donation)
  • Arrived at Three Gaits:  September 2005
  • School Horse Specialty:  His kind & easy-going personality!
  • Previous Life:  Jam moved to Racine, Wisconsin when he was 3 years old. He was trained to work with other Hungarian Warmbloods to pull a wagon as part of 4-horse hitch. He was also driven as part of a 2-horse team. Jam was later trained for English and western style riding and was even ridden sidesaddle. Previous owners say that Jam's favorite activity has always been trail riding, but some people think his most favorite activity is eating!
  • Did you know?:  The Hungarian Warmblood was almost extinct. Jam was born on the Cooksley Ranch in Anselmo, Nebraska, one of the larger breeders of Hungarian warmbloods in the US.
